ENF UPDATE

Hello Andrew,

As you know, we had more than 19,000 students apply during the 2020 Most Valuable Student contest. We recently concluded national judging, and we wanted to make sure you were among the first to hear the good news.

Bethany Harman, sponsored by Platteville, WI No. 1460, has advanced through all levels of judging and is officially one of the Top 20 MVS Finalists!

This means that Bethany Harman will receive a scholarship of at least $20,000 from the Elks National Foundation. Bethany will interview for one of the top MVS awards of $30,000, $40,000 or $50,000 later this April.

Given the unprecedented time we find ourselves in with the COVID-19 pandemic, the ENF has made the difficult, but necessary, decision to cancel the 2020 Leadership Weekend scheduled for April 23-26, in Chicago. The health and safety of our scholars are our number one priority.

However, we believe in the power of getting Elks scholars together, even if it’s virtually! We’ll be using video conferencing to conduct a portion of our Leadership Weekend programming, as well as the official interview.

In an era of bad news, we hope you share this positive news with fellow Elks and the community! We’ll be posting more about our new Top 20 Finalists via the ENF’s social media pages, as well as officially announcing the 480 MVS Semi-Finalists on the MVS webpage early next week.

If you have any well wishes for Bethany or any questions, please reply to this message by April 10. Thank you for helping us welcome our new scholars to the Elks family!

Sincerely,

Colleen Conrad
