State Major Project:
In your dues envelope you will notice an optional line for donating to the State Major Project. We hope you consider this option. Since 1996 Wisconsin Elks have donated over $3.5 million in support and buildings to our Elks/Easter Seals Respite Center in Wisconsin Dells.
Families caring for a loved one with moderate to severe disabilities have identified Respite care as their #1 need. Many respite campers are medically fragile, have multiple disabilities or autism and need one-to-one, around-the-clock care. The Elks are very proud to offer HIGH QUALITY and ENJOYABLE recreational programs for our Respite campers. The safe and nurturing environment we provide allows caregivers the peace of mind they need in order to relax and recharge during their “time off”. Specialty sessions are offered for campers with high functioning autism and for young people who have a sibling or other family member with a disability.
The Wisconsin Elks Major Project sponsors eight camperships per year and provides $41,000 per year in annual support.
